The grading scale is linear. In general those who score more than 80% (or more than the class average) will be given at least B-'s. Otherwise C's, D's and F's are possible. The grade Incomplete is given only to those missing the Final due to illness with doctor's statement.

OTHER ITEMS:

Registration, Dropping & Adding:
The information and policies with regard to registration, class meeting dates and times, dropping and adding the course, etc. are described in detail in the Schedule of Classes. You can expect that these policies will be enforced, and it is your responsibility to make sure that you are aware of them and understand them. A grade of incomplete will not be given, except under very extenuating circumstances and at the discretion of the Instructor.

Academic Honesty:
Since the grade you receive is to be based on the work that you have performed, it is essential that you do your own work on all assignments that are submitted for grading. This means that you are not permitted to copy, or allow your work to be copied by someone else, in any way, shape or form (handwritten, hardcopy, disk, etc.).

Compliance with the following two guidelines will ensure that you are acting appropriately:
(1) Do not show, or otherwise make available, your work to anyone else, and
(2) Don't look at, or otherwise use, a copy of anyone else's work. Discussion of assignments, as long as there is no direct viewing, copying or transferring of information, is permitted. After an assignment has been submitted and graded, we encourage you to share your work with others. With few exceptions, all actions of academic dishonesty involve two parties: the person doing the copying and the person that allowed their material to be copied. In such cases, both parties will be penalized within the full extent of the University guidelines. The minimum penalty will be a grade of -100% on the assignment for both parties, and can be as severe as receiving an F for the course with a note in your permanent record.

Special Note: Students who may need special consideration for the class exams and/or lab quizzes should make an appointment to see the instructor as soon as possible.
