Students who wish to pursue the minor should have a background in mathematics, science and computing consisting of:
MAT 295, 296 Calculus I, Calculus II
PHY 211, 212 General Physics
PHY 221, 222 General Physics Laboratory I, II
and one of the following:
CIS 252 Introduction to Computer Science
CIS/NAS 197, 296 Introduction to Computer Programming: Pascal, Programming in C
CSE 182 Software Engineering Design Principles
These course are not, however, considered part of the minor.
These courses are required:
CPS 211/213 Computational Science I/Scientific Programming I
CPS 212/214 Computational Science II/Scientific Programming II
Also required:
CPS 451 Senior Computational Science Project
or, with approval, a comparable project course.
