Coursework
- Your final grade will depend on
-
| Homeworks | 30% |
| Labs | 15% |
| Exams | 55% |
- Homeworks
- There will be every week or two.
The lowest homework grade will be dropped.
- Labs
- There will be one about every week near the beginning
of the course and tail-off when the homeworks get longer.
- Exams
- There will be three during the course.
For the schedule see here.
- The optional final
-
The final will be a two-to-three hour, comprehensive test and is
optional. If you take the final, your test grade
will be the larger of:
- the cumulative grade on your in-class tests
- your grade on the final
Example:
Suppose you have a cumulative grade of 85% on your in-class exams.
Then:
- If you earn 91% on the final, then the exams component of
your grade becomes 91%.
- If you earn 81% on the final, then the exams component of
your grade stays 85%.
