Your final grade will depend on

Homeworks	45%
Tests	55%

Homeworks

There will be every week or two. The lowest homework grade will be dropped.

Tests

There will be five or six quizzes during the course. The lowest quizze grade will be dropped.

The optional final

The final will be a two-to-three hour, comprehensive test and is optional. If you take the final, your test grade will be the larger of:

1. the cumulative grade on your in-class quizzes
2. your grade on the final

Example:     Suppose you have a cumulative grade of 85% on your in-class quizzes.   Then:

• If you earn 91% on the final, then the tests component of your grade becomes 91%.
• If you earn 81% on the final, then the testss component of your grade stays 85%.
